| The Volunteer Crew |
Ride Without Limits would not be possible without volunteers. They take an empty field and turn it into a camp, bringing the event to life, and serve as the support system for riders in every sense of the word. If you join the Ride as a crew member or volunteer, you will provide your own sweat equity, but you will be rewarded in ways that perhaps you've never imagined.
Our volunteer program is organized in such a way as to accomplish all the necessary tasks in the time permitted. Functions and physical requirements vary from team to team. All of the teams have some lifting involved (some more than others) but there is plenty of room for everyone willing to contribute! If you have a physical limitation, it is very important that you let us know so we can find the right team for you.
The Next Steps (Registered Crew and Volunteers)
What's the Difference Between Crew and Volunteers?
The Crew is the heart of Ride Without Limits, serving in a leadership role and bringing the event to life even before the riders or other volunteers arrive. The Crew makes a commitment to being a part of the Ride Without Limits for the entire event, joining in the community energy and being an integral part of the Ride Without Limits event. Volunteers join Ride Without Limits for a particular shift assignment or one-day adventure. If you can give us a few hours or a day, you should consider being a volunteer. If you can commit to the entire event, you should register to be a crew member.
Crew members will receive a Ride Without Limits completion shirt, stay overnight in the rider village and enjoy many other crew and rider benefits. Crew members and volunteers must be at least 16 years old by the time of the Ride. Crew members and volunteers are not required to fundraise. However, they are encouraged to do so, and receive the same fundraising tools and benefits as our riders.

Crew & Volunteer Opportunities
Crew members and volunteers are the key to making sure riders feel completely supported. Opportunities are divided between camp and route operations. Some opportunities are reserved for those who make a weekend long commitment by registering as a Ride Without Limits crew member.

This team will facilitate final clean-up of camp to make sure our site looks better than when we arrived. Works as an advance team and will depart for Crew assignment on Friday. Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs.

- Route Safety patrols the route (on motorcycle or in a vehicle) to ensure safety; will be stationed at intersections or where traffic may be an issue.
- Sweep patrols the route in passenger vehicles to pick up riders with fatigue or medical problems; transports them and their bicycles to the nearest pit stop. Must be able to lift 20-30 lbs.
Health Services Teams:
- Medical Doctors, PAs, NPs, RNs, LVNs and EMTs (Basic and Paramedic) provide medical assistance and evaluation for minor injuries. Must provide proof of insurance, license and certification/specialized degree and a current CPR card. Must be licensed/certified in the state where the event is held.

Crew & Volunteer Captains
We are looking for several crew members and volunteers to triumphantly lead their teams on both days of the ride. Captains are the leaders of their teams and should have strong communication and leadership skills. Captains are the point personnel between staff and volunteers and assist staff in managing all aspects of their assigned area and their volunteer team. If being a captain interests you, please contact your local Crew & Volunteer Coordinator. Ideally, captains will make a weekend-long commitment by registering as a Ride Without Limits crew member.
