Many companies (both large and small) offer employee matching gift programs. This means that when an employee makes a donation to a cause or non-profit organization, the corporation will “match” that donation with an equal (or greater) amount to the same group. Many of your donors may work for companies with matching gift programs and can double the impact of their donation by soliciting a matching gift from their employer.

How do I submit a matching gift?
Step One: Confirm with your donor that their company will match for Ride Without Limits. If the company will match for Ride Without Limits, proceed to step two.

Step Two: The donor makes a donation (either online or via mail) to Ride Without Limits and keeps a copy of the receipt. The donor then obtains and completes a matching gift form from their company.

Step Three: The donor gives the matching gift form along with a copy of their donation receipt to the Ride Without Limits participant. The participant makes a copy of the form and the receipt and sends the originals to the following address:

What if the matching gift company has an online matching gifts process?
For matching gift companies that have an online matching gifts process, the company will require that the donor, not the participant, submit the matching gift form online. In this case, please advise the donor to select Ride Without Limits as the designated charity and to add your name, event city and participant ID to the “notes” section of the online matching gift form. This information will allow us to properly credit the matching gift to your account.

How long will it take for a matching gift form to be processed and mailed back to the matching gift company?
It will take 8 weeks from the date the matching gift form is received by Ride Without Limits for the form to be processed. Once the form has been processed, it will be posted to your account as “Unconfirmed.” Any “Unconfirmed” matching gifts in your account have been mailed back to the matching gift company for review.

How long will it take for the matching gift company to cut a check for the matching gift?
Please contact the company directly to find out when matching gift checks are mailed.

What happens if the matching gift is not approved by the matching gift company?
If the matching gift company does not approve a matching gift, the company will contact either the donor or Ride Without Limits. Ride Without Limits will contact you if we receive a denial notification.
